These terms govern everything you buy from Bones and Bakes, whether online or at the stall. Please read them before ordering; placing an order means you accept them.
Who you are buying from
This site is operated by Brechin Dog Park Partnership, a partnership established in Scotland, of Brechin Dog Park c/o Hoodston Farm, Findowrie, Brechin, SCT, DD9 6RF, GB. Bones and Bakes is a sub-brand of Brechin Dog Park Partnership, not a separate business. Contact us at [email protected].
Ordering
A contract between us is formed when we email to confirm your order, not at the moment you pay. If we cannot fulfil an order — an ingredient is short, the oven is off, a batch fails — we will tell you and refund you in full.
We may decline an order. In practice this happens only where we cannot deliver to you, where an order is beyond what we can bake in time, or where we believe a request would be unsafe for the dog it is intended for.
Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. Postage is calculated by Shopify at checkout from the weight of your basket and the Royal Mail service that fits it, so you see the exact cost before you pay. We can change prices at any time, but never after you have placed an order.
Checkout and payment are handled by Shopify. Your card details are processed by Shopify’s payment provider and never reach this website or us.
Delivery and collection
We post within the United Kingdom only, by Royal Mail, and we also offer free collection at the park. Delivery times are estimates: we control when an order leaves us, not how quickly Royal Mail carries it. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery, or on collection. Our FAQ sets out the detail.
Cancellation, returns and refunds
Our treats are freshly baked and perishable, so they are exempt from the usual fourteen-day right to cancel a distance sale under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Once an order has been baked and dispatched we cannot accept it back.
This does not affect your legal rights where something is faulty. If your order arrives damaged, spoiled, short, or not what you ordered, email us within [14] days with a photograph and we will replace it or refund it in full, including the postage you paid. You do not need to return anything.
If you catch us before your order is baked, we will cancel and refund in full. Our full position is on the returns and refunds page.
About our treats
These are complementary treats for dogs. They are not a complete food and they are not a medicine. They are intended for dogs and are not fit for human consumption.
Ingredients and allergens are listed on every product page and on the pack. If your dog has a diagnosed condition or a known allergy, read the list before buying and ask your vet if you are unsure. Introduce any new treat gradually, keep treats to under a tenth of your dog’s daily intake, and supervise your dog with any chew.
Because every batch is hand-made, shapes, colours and sizes vary. Our photographs are honest but what arrives will not be identical to them.
Our liability
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for breach of your legal rights in relation to the goods.
We are not liable for business losses. We supply these goods for domestic and private use.
Complaints
Email [email protected] and we will reply within [5] working days. We would always rather hear from you directly than have you go elsewhere first.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. The version that applies to your order is the version published when you placed it. The date at the top tells you when this version took effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and disputes may be brought in the Scottish courts. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
